Career path
Me Catherine Lagger-Fournier studied law at the University of Fribourg (2005-2010).
Between 2010 and 2016, she evolved within the international law firm PYTHON & PETER (Sion branch), as a trainee attorney and then, after having passed the Bar exams in 2012, practised as an associate attorney- at- law developing an independent activity. At the same time, she pursued her notary training.
She joined the law firm MC AVOCATS in November 2016 .
She has also acted as legal counsel in judicial proceedings in Geneva with international ramifications.
She gained expertise in contract law monitoring the sale of a group of companies and in bankruptcy law with the conduct of the bankruptcy of a non-authorized banking establishment.
The practise of notarial law has enabled her to develop her experience in commercial law and in property law (in particular the federal act on the acquisition of real estate by foreigners and the federal rural land act) as well as in matrimonial and inheritance law (inheritance agreement, sharing of an estate, anticipated inheritance, and marriage contracts).
Experience
With the benefit of over 8 years of experience at the Valais Bar, she has acquired the necessary skills and expertise in assisting people from abroad taking up residency and acquiring real estate in Switzerland. She has sound experience in prosecution for debt, freezing orders and bankruptcies, in commercial law and the drawing-up of contracts as well as acting as litigator in construction and various contracts (sale, works & services, brokerage, employment and lease agreements).
